GRAND RAPIDS, MI - With a renewed focus placed on the importance of fresh, what better time than the present to direct attention to the retail sector. SpartanNash appears to stand strong in this reasoning, as the company has announced it has promoted Amy McClellan to Vice President of Fresh Merchandising, effective March 8.
In her new role, McClellan will play a vital part in developing the long-term vision of fresh product categories to continue the success of SpartanNash's 150 company-owned stores and 2,100 independent retail locations.
According to a press release, McClellan will help create the overall product assortment strategy to deliver the highest quality products while also introducing new solutions to meet changing consumer habits. She will report to Senior Vice President, Merchandising Joe McQuesten.
Prior to her new position, McClellan most recently served as the Senior Vice President, Retail Operations and Merchandising for Martin's Super Markets as well as Division Vice President, Retail for SpartanNash since the company acquired Martin's in January of 2019.

McClellan recently celebrated 20 years of service with Martin's, having began her career as a part-time cashier before working her way through a variety of different positions in the company including Communications Specialist, Market Research Supervisor, Loyalty and Marketing Programs Manager, and Director of Marketing and Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
"Amy's strong leadership in merchandising, market development, and strategic growth initiatives will help to grow and expand the Fresh Merchandising categories at SpartanNash," noted Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer Lori Raya.
In addition to her role at SpartanNash, McClellan currently serves on the SpartanNash Foundation Board of Trustees, the Greater South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the United Fresh Produce Association Retail/Food Service Board of Directors.
