SAN BERNARDINO, CA - After spearheading continuous growth in the company’s IT division, Gil Salazar has been elevated to a critical role with Stater Bros. Markets. Salazar will now take on the role of Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.

MarketsContinuing to serve on the retailer’s Executive Leadership Team, Salazar will lead the newly created Enterprise Data Management team. Comprised of a Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (BICOE), Data Science, Data Engineering, and Data Governance teams, the new Enterprise Data Management team will be tasked with delivering data-driven insights through reporting and visualizations, extracting timely insights to support rapid decision-making, and ensuring and improving data quality.

As a press release explained, Salazar has nearly 35 years of IT experience and has been a member of the Stater Bros. team for eight years. His most recent title was Senior Vice President of Information Technology.

He recently led the company's efforts to overhaul its IT and technology infrastructure and is currently spearheading the company's transition to a more modern Human Capital Management (HCM) system while preparing for the implementation of a game-changing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

In his new role, Salazer will report to Pete Van Helden, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board.
