Target is continuing its effort to make fresh food and groceries a central part of its future with further store renovations to the new PFresh format. Along with making the revised stores smaller so as to better penetrate dense markets nationwide, the prototype fresh stores will be integrated into over 800 stores by the end of next year. Target currently operates around 300 PFresh departments in its 1,700 plus stores. Smaller stores are on they way to several retail markets, including Baltimore and San Francisco.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
