United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) Names Jack Clare Chief Information Officer

PROVIDENCE, RI - As the industry continues to grow and expand its footprint, we’re faced with the constant need to adapt and enhance our technological intelligence in order to better optimize our efficiencies. Grocery distribution giant United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) realizes the importance of information technology and has announced a new leader to take the charge. The company has named Jack Clare as its new Chief Information Officer effective Monday, March 30, 2020. Clare will report to Eric Dorne, Chief Operating Officer.

Eric Dorne, Chief Operating Officer, United Natural Foods, Inc. “Jack is a highly-experienced CIO, and a tremendous leader with a longstanding history of putting the customer at the forefront of today's digital transformation,” commented Dorne. “He will play a fundamental role in driving our Build Out the Store’ growth strategy, help us further accelerate our network integration efforts, and lead planning efforts on how to best leverage data and digital solutions to help support our customers in a continually competitive retail environment. We are thrilled to welcome Jack to UNFI.”

United Natural Foods, Inc. has named Jack Clare as its new Chief Information Officer effective Monday, March 30, 2020

In this role, Clare will lead and execute on the vision, strategy, and operations of UNFI’s Information Technology (IT) team to better allow the company to serve more than 30,000 customers throughout the United States and Canada.

Jack Clare, Chief Information Officer, United Natural Foods, Inc. According to UNFI’s release, Clare boasts over 20 years of experience in IT and strategic leadership roles for prominent consumer packaged goods and restaurant retailers. He most recently served as Chief Information and Strategy Officer at Dunkin’ Brands, where he was responsible for directing all information technology resources with an intense focus on supporting franchisees and driving restaurant profitability through technology.

Prior to joining Dunkin’ Brands, Clare served as Vice President, IT and Chief Information Officer for Yum! Restaurants International, and spent seven years with Constellation Brands, most recently as its Vice President, Technical Services. Earlier in his career, Clare was a System and Flight Test Engineer with the United States Air Force.
