United Supermarkets’ Fernando Noriega, general manager of the 45th and Bell store location in Amarillo, TX has received one of the Food Marketing Institute’s 14th annual Store Manager of the Year Award. The four grand prize winners were recognized for their work in store operations, leadership and community involvement. Noriega, who has served the supermarket chain for over 17 years, currently leads one of the company’s highest-volume stores, one that relished in a double-digit increase in profitability during its most recent fiscal year. The store also ranks within the company’s top tier for guest satisfaction surveys and United’s mystery shopper program.
