Hello, this is Sarah Hoxie reporting from Chicago, Illinois, where I met with U.S. Foodservice, now US Foods, and had the chance to speak with Produce Category Manger, Frank Swanson, and Produce Director of Category Management, Rob Ondrus. They are both excited about the company’s recent changes, including a new corporate name US Foods. The company will encompass a more creative and innovative identity, while refocusing its strategies to generate better food offerings and a more efficient service experience for the consumer. A new tagline “Keeping Kitchens Cooking” and logo displaying vibrant orange and green food colors creates a bold and simple statement and will begin appearing on trucks, products, and other areas.

With the launch of a new line of products exclusive to US Foods, the company desires to present customers with enhanced products, more intuitive tools and technologies, as well as service solutions and information better tailored to the consumer. The company introduced 800 new products this year and in October will launch two new brands including Chef’s Line. The 64 test kitchens, Culinary Innovation Center in Rosemont with a team of US Food chefs and product developers that scour the world for ideas, are a few of the ways that the company is working to reach new heights.

President and CEO, John Lederer, states “Our new name and brand image are a reflection of the many customer-focused improvements now underway at US Foods. We traveled the country and listened carefully to what our employees and customers had to say about how we can improve: provide better, more relevant and innovative food choices and make it easier for our customers to do business with us. We believe this is a recipe for mutual success.”

www.usfoods.com
