Wal-Mart to Invest C$500 Million in Canada Expansion

<p> Wal-Mart is planning to invest approximately C$500 million ($452 million) to expand its Canadian footprint this year, ultimately creating more than 7,500 jobs in the area. The locations of the stores and the distribution center projects were undisclosed, but will be announced at a later time.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> More than C$376 million will be spent for store projects, C$91 million for distribution networks to expand fresh food capability, and C$31 million for e-commerce projects, according to Chicago Tribune.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> By January 31, 2015, the company expects to complete 35 supercentre projects in Canada, adding one million square feet of retail space.
