<p>Fortune Magazine is announcing the release of its 2014 list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For. The list recognizes several grocery retailers.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href="http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/best-companies/2014/list/?iid=BC14_sp_full" target="_new"> Click here to view the complete list of Top 100 Best Companies to Work For. </a><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Wegmans, Whole Foods, and Publix have all made the list every year since it started back in 1998. Nugget Market has been on the list for nine consecutive years.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Two thirds of the companies' scores were based on a survey which was sent to a random sampling of employees. The survey asked questions related to their attitudes about the management's credibility, job satisfaction, and camaraderie. The remaining third was based on a company's response to the Culture Audit Questionnaire, which asked detailed questions about pay and benefits programs, as well as open-ended questions about hiring, communication and diversity, according to a Publix press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Here are the results which are direcly relevant to the produce industry:<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><b>#12 - Wegmans Food Markets</b><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"Our employees make Wegmans a place where customers feel happy and cared about, and my job is to make sure our employees feel that way, too,” CEO Danny Wegman said in a press release. “What’s most important to us is that our employees feel that Wegmans is a great place to work."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Fortune wrote, "College students, take note: Almost half of employees are 25 or younger at this family-owned grocery retailer on the East Coast.
