Weis Markets has completed the 3,500-square-foot expansion and upgrade of its Mountaintop location. The company also made $17,500 in local donations to mark the Sunday June 10th Grand Re-Opening celebration. The project rounded out at approximately $4.7 million and presents a new exterior, larger entrance and improved interior décor. The location also includes an expanded deli, selection of food service items, and a larger produce department with an increased selection of locally grown and organic produce. A $14,000 Fight Hunger donation went to the Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, $1,400 donated by customers went to the Luzerne County SPCA and $2,100 in local donations were given to Mountain Top Youth Soccer Association, NEPA Rampage Girls Basketball, Mountain Top Youth Basketball League, Boy Scout Troop 106 , Cub Scout Troop 106, Mountain Top Little League, Mountain Top Blitz Jr. Football and the Wright Township Fire Department. Dennis Curtin, Weis Markets’ Director of Public Relations, states, “Our project is officially finished. We have quite literally reinvented our Mountaintop store.” Mr. Curtin, continues, “Virtually every part of our store has been improved and expanded.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
