Austin, TX - The National Retail Federation has announced that Whole Foods Market is the recipient of its Innovator of the Year award.  Walter Robb, Co-CEO of the company, accepted the award on behalf of Co-CEO and Founder John Mackey during the Annual Retail Industry Luncheon at NRF’s 101st Annual Convention and EXPO.   This award acknowledges an innovator that has distinguished themselves as a retail leader by utilizing fresh, inventive or imaginative methods.  The ability to sustain and develop these achievements in the face of a challenging industry, is also a prerequisite of the award.  NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay, states, "As evidenced by their loyal customer base and storied success, these visionaries have truly inspired the entire industry through their creativity, leadership, innovation and forward thinking.” Mr. Shay continues, “We are thrilled to be able to recognize them amongst their peers and look forward to witnessing their continued success.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
