<p style="text-indent:0px; line-height:12px;"><span style="font-weight:bold;line-height:130%"> Yuma, AZ</span><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">By Eric Anderson<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">4.10.13</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Despite the recent warm weather, the Yuma transition is still behind schedule. <img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/arizona-lettuce-image-cropped-yuma-april-9-2013.jpg" alt="Images041013" />Growers note that they are finishing a little later than they budgeted, and the last crops are being harvested there this week.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">For leaf lettuces in the area, prices are fairly depressed.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Prices for 24 counts are as follows, according to USDA averages:<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Iceberg wrapped, $6.95 – 9.64<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Romaine, $6.00 – 9.64<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Romaine hearts, $10.05 – 12.64<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Green leaf $6.25 – 8.64<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Red, $6.25 – 8.64<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Butter, $6.45 – 8.64<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">For the most part, quality has been good, but high winds have whipped up soil particulates and caused some wind burn, growers tell AndNowUKnow.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Cauliflower is currently in very short supply; however, greater volumes should be in store for next week. Currently, cauliflower 12 packs are running from $16.00 -$21.48.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Leaf lettuce growers will finish up their final production in Yuma by the end of the week and move equipment north to work in Salinas next Monday the 15th, at which time the region will begin with full leaf lettuce production.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
