<p><strong>Davis, CA</strong> - The Castellini Group of Companies and Fresh Innovations/J-V Farms are joining the list of those contributors to the Center for Produce Safety's Campaign for Research. CPS's competitive research grant programs will be the recipients of the generous donations. Each company is pledging a generous $100,000. The Campaign for Research started with the Wegman Family Charitable Foundation's $250,000 donation at the CPS Produce Research Symposium in Florida, in June 2011. The charity has grown exponentially since its inception. Now over $1 million have been donated by supporters in the produce industry.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> CPS Chairman, Steve Patricio, states, "The entire produce industry - from the supply side to the retail and foodservice side - is certainly stepping up to support the research that is needed."
