<p>With corporate responsibility as one of the three pillars of Delhaize Group’s strategy, the company is taking its social accountability very seriously. The Delhaize Group Fund has announced its projects for 2011. The 34 projects are spread throughout Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg and are the recipients of the group's support totaling around EUR 150 000. The project's initiatives bring together the local communities where the company is located with one common goal "that of getting to know their neighbors better and feeling good in their community."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Within the group of selected projects, the ‘Delhaize Associates’ Prize’ was awarded to ‘The school in the neighborhood’ of the V-Tex school in Kortrijk. Delhaize associates voted on this winning project which doubled the amount of economic support.
