Included in that trio is reading to a child, three times a week. This month, in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday and to continue its ongoing support of reading to children through H-E-B's Read 3 Campaign, the company is offering a 10% discount on all Dr. Seuss books, according to promotional materials. This offer is in addition to the discount of 20% off children's books that the store presents everyday. Along with the stories that Dr. Seuss will be sharing this month, all H-E-B stores will collect new or gently used children's books for the H-E-B Read 3 Child Literacy program. Special Saturday readings will also be held at select stores.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> H-E-B's efforts recognize that not all families can afford to stock their homes with their own personal libraries. H-E-B launched Read 3 with the goal of collecting one million books in 2011 and 2012, for children in need. The activity of reading helps to shape a child's mind and imagination, allowing them to more successfully develop the reading skills needed to be productive in school.
