<p><strong>Charlotte, N.C.</strong> - During the month of March, Harris Teeter is partnering with the American Cancer Society to promote a world with less cancer and more birthdays, according to a recent press release. From March 1 – 31, 2012, Harris Teeter will sell donation cards in $1, $3 and $5 denominations in support of the Society, at all of its locations.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The non-profit organization is helping more than eleven million cancer survivors celebrate their birthdays this year. Cancer is an international epidemic, with numbers revealing that more than an estimated 1.6 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer this year, according to the Society. The American Cancer Society saves lives by helping individuals through prevention, health and support resources as well as through research and raising awareness.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Danna Jones, Communication Specialist for Harris Teeter, states, "Our shoppers have shown us time and time again their generosity and willingness to get involved in nonprofit organizations fighting to make a difference in their communities,” and continues, “We are honored to be associated with an organization like American Cancer Society so committed to the prevention and cure of a disease that affects so many of our customers.”</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
