BJ's Rolls Out the Numbers

<p>WESTBOROUGH, MA - BJ’s Charitable Foundation has donated $1,055,400 to 166 nonprofit organizations in the 15 states where BJ’s Wholesale Clubs call home. The donations will be dispersed to organizations that focus in the four areas of hunger prevention, self-sufficiency, health care and education, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> “The BJ’s Charitable Foundation is proud to support organizations that provide care and crucial services for individuals and families in need,” said Jessica Newman, Manager of Community Relations for BJ’s Wholesale Club. “The funds distributed to organizations that focus on hunger prevention, healthcare, self-sufficiency and education will have a positive impact in BJ’s communities.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The rising cost of fuel and food prices is making the delivery process for hunger relief organizations more difficult than ever. BJ’s Charitable Foundation is granting $371,400 to forty-nine non-profit organizations who have programs to help in the prevention and alleviation of hunger. Forty-five nonprofits will receive a total of $278,800 in grants, that provide temporary or emergency services to individuals and families who have the goal of becoming independent members of society. A donation totaling, $94,300 will go to seventeen organizations providing healthcare programs to individuals and families without access to healthcare. And last but not least BJ’s Charitable Foundation will donate $310,900 to fifty-five educational nonprofits that provide academic and vocational programs and opportunities for the underprivileged. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
