Brooks Tropicals Dragon Fruit Now Available

<p>Brooks Tropicals is now offering dragon fruit in collaboration with local South Florida growers.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The tropical staple is especially popular with Asian and Latino customers and the health-conscious, and boasts a taste reminiscent of a cross between a kiwi and a pear. With bright red skin with leathery, greenish-yellow shoots, dragon fruit stands out in the produce section<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">A peel of about 1/8” thick means this item is almost all fruit. The gel-like flesh is rich in protein, iron, fiber, and antioxidants.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Brooks expects to have excellent supplies through December. Dragon fruit come in four sizes: small, medium, large and jumbo, with case count varying between 15 and 40.
