Los Angeles, CA

The California Avocado Commission strives to increase demand for California Avocados through advertising, promotion and PR. The commission also takes part in industry related activities that benefit the state's approximate 5,000 avocado growers. Along with its support, the California Avocado Commission also has a dedicated section on its website to highlight the California growers that help grow the delicious fruit.

The platform offers a chance for consumers and those in the industry to discover the source of their avocados from region, to name, to the personal touch and care that goes behind each grove for each California Avocado grower.

The California Avocado Commission also highlights one of its own with its Featured Grower platform. The current featured grower is Dan Pinkerton. Mr. Pinkerton has been a grower for more than forty years as well as a military man for many years. After completing his military service he longed for a new way to give back. "Little did he know he would find it in the hills of California. Armed with a good old fashioned ‘can do’ attitude, he and his wife purchased a hillside of lifeless sagebrush. Day by day, they tended, nurtured, and transformed their rugged land into a lush landscape teeming with wonderful California Avocados. Today Dan is proud to say he now serves his country, one serving at a time" according to the platform.

California Avocado Commission
