<p>The Coachella Valley was forecast to be hit by record highs temperatures this weekend.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Coachella Valley until 8pm Monday.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">High temperatures were expected to reach between 117 - 123 degrees and the service urged residents to remain indoors in air conditioned areas if at all possible.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Albeit enticing, this was not an option for growers.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The table grape harvest is in full swing, and though it slowed during the hot weekend, it didn’t let up.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Area producers told AndNowUKnow that work crews were likely to work fewer hours, cutting down eight to ten hour shifts to around four to five.
