<p>Del Monte Fresh is expanding its footprint in Canada with the acquisition of 12 acres in Oshawa, Ontario with plans to build a 10,000 sqm distribution facility and banana ripening center.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Its set to open in the fourth quarter of the year with the ability to accommodate 16 trucks at a time which will largely carry imported fruits and vegetables, according to Canadian Manufacturing.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">“We also expect that demand for high quality locally grown products will be increasing.
