<p><strong>Coral Gables, FL</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Del Monte Fresh Produce kicked off the 2012 – 2013 school year by supporting the Miami HEAT “Back to School” event on Monday, August 20 at Orange Brook Elementary in Broward County.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">HEAT player Norris Cole, Del Monte Fresh Produce Staff, Office Depot, and additional supporters handed out 900 packs filled with school supplies. Del Monte distributed promotional material and the company’s mascot bananas showed up for photo opportunities with students and parents.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Dennis Christou, VP of N.A. Marketing at Del Monte Fresh, states, “It is important that we keep fruit top of mind and help teach children at a young age about the importance of eating healthy.
