Irving, TX

DMA Solutions, along with several members of the fresh produce industry, has backed a documentary film that presents the relationships formed via social media as powerful components of consumers’ daily lives.

The documentary is inspired by the popular Twitter hashtag, #followfriday, which site users use to recommend other users to each other. Filmmaker Erin Faulk sets out on an 8,000 plus mile, 28-day trek across the country to consult with social media experts about the impacts that social media has on the ways modern businesses and consumers communicate.

As someone who is always exploring new ways that fresh produce companies can connect with consumers and retailers, DMA President Dan’l Mackey Almy was immediately turned on to Faulk’s project. Ms. Almy and the DMA team, concerned about the availability of fresh produce during the filmmakers’ journey across the country, spread news of the project to industry members. Soon, Ms. Faulk had a host of fresh produce companies offering support for the film via their page on Kickstarter.com. Industry backers for the project include California Giant Berry Farms, Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Mann Packing, Potandon Produce/Klondike Brands, Crunch Pak, DMA Solutions, Gills Onions, Mastronardi/Sunset Produce, Moonlit Farms, Onion Crunch, and Stemilt Growers. Ms. Almy states, “We are thrilled to be involved in this unique opportunity for our industry to fuel this film crew with fresh products as they bring a new, personal dimension to the social media revolution. It’s a very exciting project and we can’t wait to see the finished film!”

DMA Solutions
