<p><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/fedefruta_chile_union_jan_2014_body01.jpg" alt="Cropped Images January 20th 2014" />FEDEFRUTA recently met with leaders, unions and ag organizations that are part of the Mesa Permanente de Diálogo Social y Laboral del Sector Frutícola to discuss and lay out the concerns of producers and exporters of fresh produce that are being affected by the strike. Now in its third week, the strike threatens current and upcoming crops of grapes, apples, blueberries and stone fruit, and has already caused created serious challenges in exports for the categories, according to FEDEFRUTA. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>President, Cristián Allendes; Director, Felipe Garcia-Huidobro and CEO, Juan Carlos Sepulveda of FEDEFRUTA went to San Antonio to meet with San Antonio Port Workers Front spokesperson Sergio Vargas about the ongoing 20 days of unemployment. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Cristián Allendes, noted that the association’s goal was to help the formation of a dialogue that could allow an end for the strike and beyond that to encourage some sort of understanding of their demands and requests.
