<p><img class="small-cropped-image" src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacySmallCroppedImages/shepp_new_member_june_2013_BODY00.jpg" alt="Cropped Images July 1st 2013" />In August, Shannon Shepp, Florida’s Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture, will move to the Florida Department of Citrus as the new Chief Operating Officer.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The 44 year old 44, has spent 12 years at the Winter Haven office of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for 12 years, eventually reaching the role of Director of the Fruit and Vegetables Division, according to the Lakeland Ledger.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Shepp worked as an aide to then-state Rep. J.D. Alexander, R-Lake Wales, for three years and as a public relations representative for three years at Lakeland-based Florida Citrus Mutual, the growers' trade group, before joining the state Agriculture Department.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Shepp holds a Bachelors degree in Mass Communications and Public Relations from the University of South Florida.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href="http://fdocgrower.com/florida-department-of-citrus/" target="_new">Florida Department of Citrus </a></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
