Food Lion Partners Up

<p><strong>Harrington, DE</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> This month, Food Lion, the Delaware State Fair and the Food Bank of Delaware are partnering up to collect over 5,000 pounds of food to feed hungry local residents.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">On Monday, July 23rd, when attendees bring four Food Lion-brand canned goods they will receive free gate admittance to the Delaware State Fair between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. This is the first annual “Food Lion Hunger Relief Day” presented at the Delaware State Fair, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> “We are pleased to help the Food Bank of Delaware provide meals for local families in Delaware,” said Bob Mills, Food Lion District Manager for the Dover, Delaware area. “This is a great way to provide our customers and Delaware residents with a chance to both attend the fair for free while helping local families.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Donations collected throughout the day will assist families in Kent and Sussex. The Food Bank of Delaware currently serves more than one in four Delaware residents.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Volunteers from Food Lion, Lake Forest School District and the Food Bank of Delaware will be assisting at the event to collect donations. Collection boxes will also be set up at entry gates. No items stored in glass will be accepted.
