Giumarra Wenatchee is excited to supply and promote the upcoming crop, according to a press release. Giumarra is entering into the fifth season for its New Zealand Meyer lemon program. The company will be shipping the fruit by vessel and is also offering air freight for any customers looking to get an early start to the season. The season will conclude at the end of September.

Jason Bushong, Sales Manager for Giumarra, Wenatchee, stated, “The new season’s lemon crop is looking good, with larger volumes than last year. Fruit size will also be better suited for the U.S. markets.” He continues, “Recent weather has delayed first coloring slightly, but we look to be on target for a late June to early July U.S. arrival.”

Meyer lemons offer a sweeter lemon variety, making them ideal additions to fresh salads, main courses, and desserts. They have a unique floral bouquet that adds to the fresh flavor. “We’ve heard from several customers that Meyer lemons are popular with their consumers for their sweet flavor. This is really a standout fruit that also continues to appear on upscale restaurant menus,” says Erika Salazar, East Coast business development manager for Giumarra.
