GoPro is delving into the drone market with the possibility of bringing and uninterrupted, full 360 degree view of whatever the pilot is looking to capture.
Last summer, GoPro acquired a French vendor with a 360-degree video software, opening a door for new tech ventures in the drone market for the new year.
The purchase of the company, Kolor, has spun whispers of drones equipped with GoPro cameras capable of shooting 360 videos for 2016, a big deal for those who have attempted to set up their drone to capture quality and stabilized video on all sides.

“Immersive video and images applications are the next big thing coming on the market. Anyone who has ever tried to set up a drone gimbal to catch perfect quality and stabilized video on three axes knows it’s a nightmare,” TechCrunch said in a report.
There are some 360-degree cameras currently on the market, including Bublcam, Panono, and Giroptic. However, none of the options offer native integration for the camera on the drone, so no auto-perfect image quality and stabilization.
“There’s going to be a natural trickle-down desire at the consumer level where people are going to want to capture this type of experience for themselves,” GoPro CEO Nick Woodman said, according to ABC12.
And why not? No disruption, no break, just immersive video by the ever-growing method of drone footage. While fun for the average drone enthusiast, this tool could also bring useful capabilities to the industry by offering even better eyes from the sky over expansive fields and lands.
