<p>Pro*Act’s Greener Fields Together™ sustainability and local produce initiative is taking its commitment to strengthen local farms and deliver more sustainably raised fresh produce to Farm Aid 2013, Saturday, September 21, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">As sponsor of the event’s HOMEGROWN Village and the HOMEGROWN concession program, Greener Fields Together joins with hosts and musicians Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, and a dozen other recording artists, to raise awareness and funds for America’s family-owned farms and help grow the “Good Food Movement,” according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">“Since 1985, this terrific event has celebrated through music, education, and advocacy the importance of America’s family-farm infrastructure and locally produced food,” said Max Yeater, president of Pro*Act, which launched Greener Fields Together in October 2012 as an industry-wide, field-to-fork produce sustainability initiative.. The Homegrown Skills Tent provides a range of local agrarian and homesteading skills presentations.
