UNITED STATES - Growers, shippers, and retailers should prepare for a mixed weather pattern heading into the Independence Day weekend, with widespread heat, scattered thunderstorms, and wildfire smoke expected to affect regions across the U.S.
According to AccuWeather, a sprawling heat dome will keep temperatures well above average across much of the central and eastern U.S. through the holiday weekend, while clusters of afternoon and evening thunderstorms could bring localized heavy rain, lightning, and travel disruptions from parts of the Rockies through the Midwest, Southeast, and East Coast.
The West is expected to see generally drier conditions, but ongoing wildfire activity and smoke may impact air quality and visibility in some areas. Drought conditions also continue to raise wildfire concerns across portions of the region.
The combination of heat, storms, and increased holiday travel could create logistical challenges for shipments during one of the busiest weekends of the summer. While many areas are expected to enjoy favorable conditions for Fourth of July celebrations, weather conditions will vary considerably by region, making localized forecasts especially important for outdoor events and transportation planning.
