The company’s packaging for its butter lettuce was the winner of a 2011 Impact Award for excellence in packaging, and the design is now featured on the side of its trailer wraps. Pete Overgaag, President, states “There are many items on the grocery shelves; it is too easy to be overlooked.” Mr. Overgaag adds, “But they can’t miss our trailer. Since everyone is a potential customer, our trucks out on the public streets are the perfect advertising vehicle.”

The trailer graphic makes use of the ample space without being visually overwhelming. The design features a fresh head of lettuce at one end with picture of the product on the other along with the message “Live Gourmet. Living Butter Lettuce. Absolutely Fresh Because It’s Still Alive!” The trailer’s side skirt is put to use as well and features the message “hydroponically grown in Carpinteria, California.”

Hollandia Produce
