<p>Wi-Fi isn’t always available when you need it the most. Here’s how you can turn your smartphone into a wireless hotspot to have Wi-Fi access anytime you want.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><B>For iPhone 4 (iOS 7):</b> Go to “Settings” > “Cellular” > “Set Up Personal Hotspot” </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><B>For iPhone 5 (iOS 7):</b> Go to “Settings” > “Set Up Personal Hotspot”</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> From there, you can set your Wi-Fi password. The name of your hotspot will typically be the name of your phone, but you can change that under “Settings” > “General” > “About”. All that’s left to do is search for your hotspot on your PC or laptop from the list of Wi-Fi connections available. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> You can ensure that your iPhone is running the latest OS version by going to "Settings" > "General" > "About" > "Version"<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> If your iPhone is running iOS 6 or below, you can update by checking "Settings" > "General" > "Software Update"</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><B>For Android:</b> Go to “Settings” > “More settings” > “Tethering &amp; Mobile HotSpot” > Turn “Mobile Hotspot” on > “Configure”</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> You can then create a name and password to customize your personal mobile hotspot. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> Alternatively, if you don’t already have a tethering plan with your carrier, you can search for an app called “FoxFi” on the app store to turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot. Keep in mind that FoxFi usage is covered under your phone’s existing plan.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><B>For Windows 8:</b> Go to “Settings” > “Internet Sharing” > Turn sharing on</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> You can now modify the name of your hotspot and the password. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><B>Note:</b> You may be required to either update your smartphone to its latest operating system or talk to your carrier to enable personal hotspots on your plan. Check with your carrier to see what options are available for you if you’re unable to access these settings.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> Voilà!
