<p><strong>Des Moines, IA</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Hy-Vee’s Pumpkin Carving Contest has officially begun earlier today.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Those interested in participating in the event must be at least 18 years of age and be a resident of Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri or Wisconsin. To enter, participants must agree to the following:<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">1. Create an original, homemade pumpkin carved with a unique creative design.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">2. Submit and original homemade photo of the entrant’s carved pumpkin.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">3. Visit Hy-Vee.com and complete the online registration form.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">During the voting period, October 29th-31st, the general public will be able to vote for the best pumpkin by visiting Hy-Vee’s Facebook page. The entry that has generated the most votes will be named as the Fist Prize winner followed by a Second and Third Prize winner.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">A photo of the Winners and/or the pumpkin that is the subject of their entry, may appear in Hy-Vee’s advertising and Special Interest Publications.
