<p><strong>Detroit, MI</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Kroger is partnering with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Detroit Tigers to sponsor the Pink Out the Park event. The event, held at Comerica Park on September 5, 2012, is designed to honor breast cancer survivors and raise awareness about ways to prevent the devastating disease.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Kroger has designated 200 Pepsi Porch Party tickets for the September 5 Detroit Tigers vs Cleveland Indians game in an effort to give a special evening to 200 individuals who have been impacted by breast cancer. A Kroger associate who has faced the disease will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Rick Going, President, The Kroger co. of Michigan, states, “We are grateful for the incredible support of our vendors and customers who have stepped up to support our efforts, such as our pink tag and coin box promotions to benefit breast cancer research. We are committed to our communities and the well-being of all those we serve.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Detroit Tigers fans will have the chance to show their support by wearing pink to the game or by purchasing one of two special ticket options—Pepsi Porch Party tickets and Cancer-Fighting tickets—at www.karmanos.org/tigers.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Since 2006, Kroger has donated nearly $550,000 to support breast cancer research at the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
