WATSONVILLE, CA - A quarter of a century worth of success in the produce industry is surely something to celebrate, and what better place to do so than an event packed with other produce luminaries? Lakeside Organic Gardens is gearing up to showcase a full range of products at the Organic Produce Network’s (OPN) Organic Produce Summit (OPS) this year as it reflects on 25 years of spectacular growth. To find out what’s on the horizon, I tap Sales Manager Brian Peixoto for some exclusive insights.

Brian Peixoto, Sales Manager, Lakeside Organic Gardens“This year, we celebrate our 25th year in business! We will be showing appreciation to those who have partnered with and supported us during our 25-year run. We still feel like we are just getting started!” Brian exclaims. “We care deeply about our customers. Without them, we are nothing. We are always working to make buyers’ jobs easier, whether that be a one-stop shop for loading, setting up freight into Los Angeles or San Francisco, contract growing for a year-round program, or trialing different items that may be out of the norm. This isn't about us, it's about you, our loyal—or soon-to-be—customers!”

As you meander the show floor, you may find Lakeside Organic highlighting its robust portfolio of year-round offerings, which features over 50 different organic commodities including broccoli, celery, lettuce, Brussels sprouts, artichokes, bell peppers, and more.

This year, on the heels of its 25th anniversary, the organic purveyor is looking to celebrate its existing partners while also forging new relationships with all of the fresh faces at OPS 2021.

“We always find value when we have face-to-face time with buyers and attendees, and we love meeting new friends and visiting with old ones,” Brian continues. “Buyers can get the sense of our passion and organic farming dedication in person when they stop by our booth. You may even get to meet our Owner and grower, Uncle Dickey!”

Dick Peixoto—or Uncle Dickey, as the Lakeside Organic family calls him—formed the company in 1996 after focusing on growing conventional crops for nearly two decades and realizing he could harness this experience to find success in organic farming.

To pick the brain of this industry stalwart and explore the supplier’s enticing organic varieties, take a stroll by booth #320 on September 15.
