Lipman Family Farms Kicks Off Sixth Annual Days of Good, Strengthening Communities Across North America; Elyse Lipman and Maria Munguia Comment

IMMOKALEE, FL - In November, Lipman Family Farms is putting its values into action nationwide during the company’s sixth annual Days of Good.

What began as a single day of service has grown into a month-long tradition of giving back to local communities. With a focus on supporting children, education and hunger relief, Lipman employees contribute their time and talent to a variety of initiatives across the country. Throughout November, employees volunteer in their hometowns by organizing food drives, assembling school supplies, renovating shelters and partnering with organizations that serve children and families in need.

“Days of Good is a reminder of what it means to be part of something larger than ourselves,” said Elyse Lipman, CEO of Lipman Family Farms, in the recent release. “We’re proud to stand with neighbors and make a difference all year, but November is really special to us.”

Project Spotlight: Community Transitional School in Portland, Oregon

Lipman’s work with Community Transitional School (CTS) is one example of how employees and local nonprofits work together during Days of Good. CTS, a long-time partner of Lipman Family Farms, is dedicated to the education and stability of children experiencing homelessness in the Portland metro area. The school provides students with pre-K through 8th-grade instruction, along with daily transportation, meals and clothing.

Lipman’s connection to CTS began in 2011, following its purchase of Portland-based Coastal Brokers. It has since grown into a longstanding partnership of reliability and respect.

Over the years, Lipman employees have supported the school through produce donations, school supply drives and first-day-of-school breakfasts. Projects during Days of Good often focus on collecting items for the school’s wish list, which help to meet the needs of students and staff.

“The school’s mission aligns perfectly with our emphasis on children, food access and education,” said Maria Munguia, Community and Programs Manager at Lipman Family Farms. “Our Portland team demonstrates what Days of Good looks like across the company.”

Giving Good Everywhere

Across all of Lipman’s operations, community champions lead Days of Good projects and organize efforts around the unique needs of each location. Last year, more than 1,000 volunteers gave 3,000 hours of service, reaching over 9,000 families. This year, Days of Good projects will take place across the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

“Each location has its own way of giving back,” Munguia shared. “But everywhere you look, the purpose is the same: to bring good to the people and the places that are close to us.”
