Lipman's Award Winning Agribusiness

<p><strong>Immokalee, FL</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Lipman Produce is honored to have been named 2012 Agribusiness Party of the Year by Collier County Public Schools. The Florida Exemplary Migrant Education Award is given to the agribusiness company that best supports the migrant community through both philanthropy and enacting programs that assist farm workers and their families.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Oscar Olguin, migrant coordinator for CCPS, states “Lipman is more than an agribusiness partner—the company is a community partner.” Mr. Olguin adds, “They not only provide migrant farm workers with jobs, but also donate time and resources to support educational programs—making them one of the most valuable agribusiness partners in our area.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">North America’s largest field tomato grower was recognized for its dedication to expanding educational opportunities and providing support to the migrant community. Over the past year, Lipman has provided $50,000 to the Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RMCA) and $10,000 to the Guadalupe Center and has awarded $30,000 in scholarships to 15 Immokalee High School graduates. Since 2005, Lipman has given over $350,000 to RMCA, $100,000 to the Guadalupe Center to help fund its library. Lipman has also provided scholarships to over 100 HIS students.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In addition to financial contributions, Lipman provides support to the migrant community in a number of other ways. The company has donated a building on its Naples farm to RMCA to be utilized as a daycare facility, has hosted the Second Annual Homerun Harvest to fund school supplies for Immokalee children, and has hosted a free health screening for its employees. Jaime Weisinger, Director of Community and Government Relations at Lipman, states, “Much of our labor force is comprised of migrant workers—and they are important to our company.
