Market Fresh Produce recently welcomed a new addition to the team, tomato re-pack expert Dana Summer. Dana, who has been named Sr. Director of Global Operations, has worked for Maglio & Company for the past 24 years, where she was involved in many aspects of the business such as procurement, sales, logistics, and operations.
“She brings much experience and knowledge to the Market Fresh team. Dana is the Sr. Director of Global Operations. In her position she will develop and execute strategies to improve procurement processes, policies and tools as well as oversee other important company endeavors,” Hannah Hughes, Marketing Manager, tells AndNowUKnow.
The company recently wrapped up an exciting 2013 year as well, with the acquisition of a tomato re-pack facility in Tampa, Florida. The facility, previously operated as West Central Florida Produce, now enables Market Fresh to be tied closer to the ground with a field inspector looking at, and hand selecting, product from the growers. Product can then packed in the company’s new facility. This acquisition also allows Market Fresh to expand product offerings within its current customer base.
“With a presence in Florida and a salesperson focused on targeting the SE region, we are able to regularly meet with customers in an effort to meet their needs and help them exceed their goals and objectives,” Hughes notes.
