David was an instrumental advisor for many companies in the industry, bringing back his knowledge of the best growing practices and business strategies from time spent in and around the Mexican grape market. As an innovator, David was one of the first to tap into Mexico's grape industry and share his acquired knowledge with peers, partners and clients in Delano and throughout the industry.

The Mexican table grape pioneer is remembered as an individual who worked extremely hard during his early days in the produce business. During that time, after working in Sonora, Mexico with his dad and brother Robert to help growers develop the Mexican table grape industry, he worked for companies that included Topco and Mendelson Zeller, as well.

David was a hard working employee but always seemed happiest and most comfortable as an entrepreneur. David worked in different capacities of both sales and production, but in the end it was David's passion for the vines that prevailed, according to a Bakersfield obituary. His passion for viticulture, his deep abiding love for the vines is what fulfilled him. David was the quintessential Grape Man - always optimistic about the upcoming harvest and willing to do the hard work to get it done.

David is predeceased in death by his special brother Robert, his father Bob, his beloved Uncle Dan Sabovich, cousin Danny Sabovich, his dog Dallas, and many special aunts and uncles. He leaves innumerable family; his Auntie Jerri Sabovich, his mother Barbara, sisters Christy Boylan (Terry), Madeline Hahn(John), Karen Landers(Richard), and niece Corinne Pettit (Justin) nephew Meyer Wilson, great nephews Luke and Hank Pettit, Auntie Nilda Muzinich, as well as many very special cousins to mourn his passing and celebrate his life.

David's wishes for those who would like to make a donation are for you to choose a charity of your choice in his memory, or make a donation to Alcoholics Anonymous. A warm thanks has been extended to David's very special person Debra, who he cared for deeply.

AndNowUKnow would like to extend our deepest condolences to David's friends and family.
