<p>G. Wayne Gauldin, 74, passed away on September 11 after a courageous battle with Stage 4 Melanoma.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Wayne joined Taylor and Sledd, also known as Pocahontas Foods, USA, in 1967 after graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) with a degree in business and marketing. Over the course of his long, fulfilling career with the company, Wayne gained the name “Mr. Pocahontas” as he traveled the country as regional sales manager, Vice President – Quality Assurance and Director of Training and Development. He was cherished as an innovator of the industry, developing a sales training program and conducting over 500 foodservice sales and sales management schools throughout the country. His commitment, accomplishments, and awards were abundant and of significance, earning him the love and respect by many in the foodservice distribution industry.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> He is survived by his wife, Betty of Janesville, WI, son Gary W (Lesley) of Richmond, VA, daughter, Donna (Garry) Duncan of Philadelphia, PA, step-son Scott (Debby) of Richmond, VA, step-daughters Lisa M. Stazio and Laura A. Stazio-Kluge (Joe) of Janesville, WI., 15 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Service and a full military honor burial were held in Janesville, WI on September 16, 2013. A memorial service was held in Richmond, VA on September 22, 2013.
