<p>A helicopter crash in British Columbia on Saturday claimed the life of Selah, WA-based Monson Fruit Company President Michael Monson.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">According to Royal Canadian Mounted Police, 48-year-old Monson was on a helicopter fishing trip in the Cambell River area when the helicopter clipped a tree and crashed, as reported by KIT Fox News Radio.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The crash happened near Bute Inlet, northeast of Cambell River. Five others survived the crash and 1 remains in a Canadian hospital today.<img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/Monson_obituary_Michael_Monson_BODY00.jpg" alt="Cropped Images April 17th 2013" />Officials with the helicopter company say they learned of the crash Saturday night after the helicopter’s tracker machine stopped working.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Monson Fruit Company grows, packs, and ships apples and cherries.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Mr. Monson was born in Provo, UT and is survived family members including his wife, Julie Monson; sons Jack and Marcus Monson; and daughter Katelyn Monson.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Our deepest condolences go out to Michael’s friends and family.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
