<p><img class="small-cropped-image" src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacySmallCroppedImages/dee_slayman.jpg" alt="images 051313 2" />Mitchell “Dee” Slayman, President of pomegranate grower, shipper and marketer Slayman Marketing, has passed away at the age of 60.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Dee will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, and tenacity.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Pomegranates become his lifelong passion. He continuously worked to improve the quality of his pomegranates and the yield from his ranches.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Dee was an aviation enthusiast who received his pilot’s license at 16 and flew at opportunity he could.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Survivors include his wife DeAnna Jane Slayman.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">A celebration of Dee's life will be held at Greenlawn Southwest in the Celebration of Life Center, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield, CA, on Wednesday, May 15th at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the , 1523 California Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93304.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Our deepest condolences go out to Dee’s family and friends.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
