<p><img class="small-cropped-image" src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacySmallCroppedImages/d658f_orange_tom-ford.jpg" alt="Cropped Images July 12th 2013" />Former President and Chairman of the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee, Thomas R. Ford, passed away on June 25 in East Wenatchee, Washington at the age of 81.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">He was raised in the Carmel area and starting farming from a young age. He married Donna Dee Belt on August 5, 1951 in Taos, New Mexico.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">His love was farming, he farmed in the valley for over 50 years harvesting and producing potatoes and barley. In 2008, he was inducted into the Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame. Tom was a successful business man. In addition to his agricultural ventures, he owned three trailer parks and three car washes.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In his free time, Tom enjoyed fishing, traveling, golfing and especially spending time with his family.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Survivors include his wife Donna Ford, daughter Debbie Ford, and sisters Josie Brewer and Alice Peel. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>AndNowUKnow would like to extend our deepest condolences to Tom's friends and family.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
