Mission Produce™ Spotlights Avocado and Mango Opportunities Ahead of Floral & Food Service Expo; Cheryl Hoefs Shares

OXNARD, CA - Avocados and mangos—two beloved categories that continue to have a draw on consumers in the produce department. One central player in both sectors is Mission Produce™, which recently unveiled a record-breaking mid-year review for the United States avocado and mango categories.

In Q2 2024, U.S. industry dollar sales for both avocados and mangos hit record highs, according to a press release. Seeing a 19 percent increase from Q2 2023, avocados hit $938.1 million, while mangos climbed to $155.4 million, up 4 percent from Q2 2023.

As we look to the fall months and the summer California, Peru, and Colombia seasons wind down, Mission Produce is preparing for various promotions on avocados from Mexico and Chile.

As for mangos, high-quality Kent, Keitt, and Honey mangos are continuing to arrive from Mexico. By early September, the Brazilian mango season is also anticipated to start ramping up.
