<p> New York Apple Association has announced the winners of its 2012 contest promoting commissary in-store displays of New York state apples and Marzetti products, according to a press release. This was the twelfth year for the NYAA-Marzetti event with the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). Six commissaries were named as winners in this year’s contest.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The winning commissaries are Harrison Village, Indianapolis, Ind. – Thomasina Walker, Produce Manager; Gunter Air Force Base, Maxwell-Gunter Annex,Ala. – Rhonda Mitchell, Produce Manager; Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Ala. – Marisol Henessey, Produce Manager; Hurlburt Field, Hurlburt Field, Fla. – Yolanda Larson, Produce Manager; Ft. Leonard Wood, Ft. Leonard, Mo. – Dominic Cirinione, Produce Manager; and Jacksonville Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Fla. – Roberto Ramos, Produce Manager.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> “Military families shopping at participating commissaries took home an average of almost 17 percent more delicious, nutritious New York state apples and apple products, demonstrating the value of our produce managers’ eye-catching displays,” said Bridget Bennett, DeCA’s Director of Produce Operations. “That’s a win-win for our customers and our commissaries alike.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The DeCA display contest promoted NewYork’s 2011 apple crop, which approached 30 million bushels.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
