With 2012 marking its 30th year in the business, the company is making strategic growth decisions, ensuring that Progreso continues to evolve and expand. One of those recent decisions made by the company, has been to make a full scale food safety upgrade to achieve GFSI compliancy for all of its farms and packing facilities, according to a recent press release. The upgrades include a process that promotes continuous improvement of all food safety management systems as well as benchmarking for a host of food safety criteria.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Progreso Produce can add a little expansion to its recent changes, with its onion program that has increased acreage in Othello, Washington; Hatch, New Mexico and Peru.
