The introduction of Peruvian avocadoes to the mix fills a short 12-week market window and compliments their Mexican program.

Curtis DeBerry, President of Progreso Produce commented, “The opportunity to make Peruvian avocadoes available to our customers allows us to offer a firmer fruit during the time of year when the Mexican avocado crop is very ripe. For some customers, ripe fruit poses receiving challenges. Peruvian fruit gives our customers a choice during this quality sensitive time.” Progreso will begin importing Peruvian avocadoes through the Port of Houston during the week of June 25th. The product will be available in 25-pound cartons of 48 count sizes and larger under the Southern Exposure brand. Mexican avocadoes will also be available.

Progreso also offers year-round onion and watermelon programs sourcing from all major growing regions in the US and Mexico.
