Schnucks to Host Frieda's Produce University on Summer Melons

<p><strong>St. Louis, MO</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Schnucks will host the upcoming Frieda’s Produce University on Saturday, June 30. The tasty summer refresher course will focus on three gourmet melons: Honey Kiss, Golden Kiss, and Sugar Kiss, grown exclusively by the specialty melon farm, Sandstone Marketing, of Yuma, AZ. Karen Caplan, CEO of Frieda’s Inc, states “The Kiss melons are not your average cantaloupes—their sweetness is outstanding.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The free open-house styled sampling event will be hosted in the produce departments at all Schnucks, Logli, and Hilander locations from 11am-4pm on June 30. Schnucks’ produce staff will lead free tastings and share their knowledge about summer melons with customers who drop by.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Since 1989, Frieda’s produce University has been committed to educating consumers with product information, cooking ideas, and samples of the produce departments’ newest specialty fruits and vegetables. Schnucks has partnered with Frieda’s for Produce University sessions throughout the year, with each session focusing on a different theme. Mike O’Brien, VP of Produce at Schnucks, states, “Produce University highlights our produce teams’ knowledge of a wide variety of specialty produce through the seasons.
