Side Delights® Announces the Retirement of Steve Tweten

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - A recent announcement from Fresh Solutions Network heralded the retirement of Steve Tweten, President, CEO, and Partner of NoKota Packers (NPI), an exclusive supplier of Side Delights® potatoes. After 40 years with the company, Tweten will retire December 27, 2019.

Steve Tweten is set to retire at the end of the month, trading in his 40 years with Nokota Packers for more family time

According to a press release, Tweten grew up farming potatoes on his father’s farm, where he learned first-hand what it took to be a potato farmer. He attended the University of Minnesota where he earned an associate’s degree in Agriculture Business. In 1979, Tweten and his father started NPI and began shipping potatoes in 1980. After his father retired in 1988, Tweten became President. In addition to its reputation for superior quality and service, NPI is known for its strong relationships with customers, growers, truckers, and employees. Tweten himself noted, “I’m proud of the way we treat others.”

In addition to his career at NPI, Tweten has also served on the Marketing and Promotion Committee for the Northern Plains Potato Growers Association. He has been a consultant to United Potato Growers of America and was President for his local Farm Bureau. He was also involved with Grand Forks County Ag club and served as Treasurer, Vice President, and President.
