Six Texas Produce Industry Leaders to be Honored at the Texas Produce Hall of Fame Banquet

<p> On April 28th, six Texas produce industry leaders will be honored at the 2014 Texas Produce Hall of Fame Banquet.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">These leaders include <B>Bill Robertson</b> and <B>Lloyd Miller</b>, two well-respected growers who have contributed significantly to the Texas produce industry. <B>David Peterson</b> and <B>George “Eddie” Edwards</b>, well respected independent farmers, will receive the Hall of Fame Posthumous Awards. <B>John M. McClung</b> and <B>Ray Prewett</b> will be honored with the Scott Toothaker Award for their dedication and service to the Texas produce industry. The Scott Tookhaker Award goes to individuals who have made special contributions to the industry, although they were not directly involved in production agriculture, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The Produce Hall of Fame was established in 1988 and has since presented 134 living and posthumous awards and 17 Scott Toothaker Awards to men and women who have contributed a large part of their lives to the betterment of the Texas Produce Industry, along with acting as a fundraiser for the William E. Weeks Agricultural Scholarship.
