<p><strong>WASHINGTON</strong> - Stemilt Growers is joining a worthy cause this month to promote healthy eating among Americans. The company has joined forces with 6,000 USDA partners to make March 8, 2012 “What’s on MyPlate?” Day in order to increase public awareness of just how important it is to choose healthy foods for daily meals. Stemilt supports the USDA's platform that promotes the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans which details the latest recommendations for Americans on nutritional eating and emphasizes the message supported by the new MyPlate food icon, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The objectives of the “What’s on MyPlate?” Day campaign is to stir nationwide awareness using social networks such as blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. These resources can also be used to share MyPlate information and connect individuals to the new SuperTracker and the ChooseMyPlate.gov website.
